Celebrate Books at Singleton
Celebrate the New Year by dedicating a new book to your middle school library for the next book assembly program scheduled to be held on February 10, 2012. “Celebrate Books at Singleton” (formerly known as the Birthday Book Assembly on the lower school campus) is a time-honored tradition at St. Michael’s. Each quarter, students may present a book of their choosing to the library to become a part of the permanent collection. A special book plate in the front of each book provides the name of the student presenting the book, the special occasion for the dedication, the date and the honoree if it is someone other than the student. Books may be given in honor or memory of a loved one, in thanksgiving for a new family birth, in honor of a teacher, an upcoming 8th grade graduate, or a milestone birthday. Books may be chosen by selecting one of the books in the library that has been set aside for this purpose, purchased from your favorite bookstore, by special order through your librarian, Mrs, Chess, or by selecting a book from the online Wish List available through the school website. Hard bound books are preferred where possible because they withstand the heavier use the library requires.
